1 – Commercial Invoice Accuracy
Prepare your invoices properly. The commercial invoice acts as a bill of sale between the buyer and the seller, explaining what you are importing and referring to important transaction numbers. It also serves as a tool for you to pay the supplier. The invoice must be prepared exactly as you and your supplier agreed on the pro forma invoice. Don’t ask your supplier to write this down. It must be prepared and printed on a computer so that the invoice is easy to read and legible compared to customs invoices and other relevant documents. Show all commodities with certainty that they are to be imported. Accuracy is key here; every statement of fact must be true.
